Latoya Person, a lifelong resident of Michigan, was born and raised on the east side of the state and relocated to Grand Rapids in 2002. A graduate of Davenport University, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. She takes pride in her community and has made it her duty to serve the area beyond her role as Managing Partner with MBS.
Latoya began her career in the retail industry and, after working her way up to a manager, she decided to pursue a career dedicated to recruiting. She started as an intern with Management Business Solutions in her last year of college. Her great work ethic and willingness to help the company continue to grow led to her being promoted into a lead recruiter role. After being with the company 5 years she became a part owner of MBS. Latoya brings more than 10 years of experience and expertise in the management, hiring, and recruiting of employees. As Managing Partner she is committed the company’s success and also leads the internal operations of the company. She develops and executes strategic and day-to-day communications efforts and strategies to support the company’s mission. She has succeeded in streamlining business operations to ensure each client receives the best recruitment solutions possible.
Latoya’s natural talent for strategic oversight and effective analysis also awakened her elite sourcing abilities. She is the internal “Sourcing Guru” for MBS, bringing an innate expertise in attracting extraordinary candidates. Latoya creates robust talent pipelines for positions across the country and truly enjoys the “thrill of the hunt.”
Latoya is also passionate about serving the community she works in. She served on the board as Secretary and Executive Board Member for BL²END (Business Leaders Linked to Encourage New Directions), whose mission is to foster an environment of growth and belonging where young professionals of color can connect with each other, develop professionally and contribute to the local community. She also gives back through humanitarian efforts. Latoya is a Sunday School Teacher at New St. Mark Baptist Church and co-founded One in Christ Ministries, an organization committed to serving, helping and motivating the under served population in our local community. She has formed multiple partnerships with the Grand Rapids Housing Commission, offering her services to Hope Community, Liz’s House, Adams Park Apartments and shelters such as Degage Ministries. Latoya volunteers her time, provides food baskets, clothing, and items of necessity, in addition to serving as a mentor to individuals in their housing programs. It’s her personal mission to connect, uplift, encourage, educate, and disciple those in need.
She is excited to use her core strengths to continue expanding MBS as a premier recruiting firm in West Michigan.
